My dreams take me to the wierdest places—sometimes good, sometimes bad—but there are some of them I just don't want to forget. So good or bad, they go here. My dreams take me on a journey into the farthest parts of my mind. If I can figure out what they mean, maybe I can understand myself a bit better. You are more than welcome to take this journey with me, but don't judge what you read. Remember, it was just a dream.

That said, a lot of these dreams have at least one part of them that would be great in a story. Some of them would make amazing stories all on their own, so I do get a lot of writing inspiration from these pages. Maybe one day you'll read one of my stories and know exactly which dream inspired it!

Shopping for Cake and Beer

This dream was so vivid while I was dreaming, yet I completely forgot about it once I was awake until after I had already been up half an hour, eaten breakfast, and brushed my hair. Right after putting the brush down I walked into the living room, saw the pool table, and was suddenly reminded of this dream. Sadly I don't remember all of it, but I remember enough to record it.

I believe it started off with my husband having some friends over. There were four of us in total, which means it was just myself, my husband, and his friends Chris and Jamie. They were sending me to the store for some things. It was just me going, so I don't know where my kids were at the time. Presumably the guys were watching them, or perhaps they were visiting some family.

They ask me to pick up some food, especially some snack type foods to eat throughout the night. I don't remember if they asked me to pick up anything for dinner, but I'm sure I got something anyways. Chris handed me a fistful of cash, and asked me to be sure I picked up two 15 packs of Miller Lite 16 oz aluminum bottles. He asked me to grab one other thing, but I don't remember what it was.

So I leave the house, and arrive at the grocery store. It's laid out something like a mix between our local grocery store, Brookshire's, and the bakery section of Sam's Club. I go around the store, filling the cart with food, and as I'm ready to leave I pass by a stand with a bunch of cakes on it. My eyes light up and I realize "I want CAKE!" I get all excited and start circling the stand, inspecting the cakes that are there and searching for one that's small, and pre-packaged. The bakery itself was closed at that time, so I couldn't ask them to get me a smaller one, I had to find one I wanted right on that stand.

There was a large half-sheet pink cake with puffy white frosting on the edges. It had a sort of fancy design on the top, and a space where I'm assuming most people get words put on. There was a smaller cake, about a foot long by eight inches or so, covered completely in chocolate fudge with walnuts. I liked that one, but I kept searching. I came upon two cakes that were very odd. They were pizza cakes. They literally looked like cakes, but they were only an inch tall. The walls of the cakes were made to look like pizza dough, while the tops of them resembled an actual pizza. I believe they actually were coated in sauce and cheese (one was a cheese pizza cake and the other was a pepperoni pizza cake). I didn't believe they were real until I felt someone brush by me and I fell forward, one hand falling directly into the center of the cheese pizza cake. It was greasy and squishy and it felt disgusting... I could feel that it was a cake with a pizza on top. I moved on quickly before the idea of it made me sick. Then I see it. There is a small square cake, 8x8, a salmon-pink colored frosting, strawberry banana, with dark brown chocolate frosting around the edges. It was perfect, and it was pre-packaged, perfect for me to just grab and go.

I get my cake, and I head to the check out counter. Then I suddenly remember, I forgot Chris's alcohol! I turn my head to look behind me, and see the refrigerator section. I turn back, and suddenly I am not pushing an overflowing shopping cart. Instead, I have a small handful of items, maybe two or three total, and my friend Megan is standing beside me telling me we should get going before it gets too late. I hand her the items and ask her to wait just a minute, I forgot the alcohol, and that I'll be right back. I rush back to the fridge section and begin searching the L-shaped aisle for a 15 pack of 16oz Miller Lite aluminum bottles. I find a Miller Lite section, but there is every other size and package of bottles, cans, and even smaller packages of aluminum bottles, but I just don't see the exact package he really wants. I tell myself I'll just stop by another store on the way home and get them there, so I start to head back to the checkout when I nearly trip in the middle of the aisle...

Chris is sitting in the center of the aisle, next to one of the glass doors on the fridges. I tell him that I looked but I couldn't find what it was he was looking for, and he says it's okay. He has something better. He points up to the top of the fridge he's sitting by, and on the very top shelf, about two feet above my head, there is a 5 gallon jug of clear alcohol with a small box sitting on top of it. He stands up and pulls them both down, and tells me that they are very special, because no one else in the world has them. I don't know what exactly it is, I think he tried to explain it but my dream-mind wouldnt let me remember it. I tell him I don't have the money or the space to buy them, and he laughs and says it's fine, he has some back at the house anyways. But he makes me put them back up on the shelf. The shelf above my head. *sigh* I manage to lift the 5 gallon jug and slide it onto the shelf, though I literally have to climb OVER Chris to reach. When I try to put the box back on top of the jug though, it won't fit. I try and try but it just doesn't fit. Chris laughs at me, stands up, and opens the glass door just to the left of the one I'm in. He takes the box from me, and puts it through the other door and around to the side of the jug, then pushes it upwards into the ceiling of the fridge... and the ceiling shifts! He is then able to easily slide it on top of the jug, and the ceiling falls back into place.

I tell him it's not fair, that he cheated to get it in there, and I could have done the same thing except I was trying to do it the RIGHT way, even if that meant a little extra work. I'm facing the fridge while saying all this, and when I turn around to say it to his face, he's gone. Completely disappeared. So I shake my head and go back to Megan at the checkout, we pay for our things, then we leave.

We get back to the house, and I'm guessing all the groceries we originally had in the shopping cart are already unloaded and put away. I place the cake gently down on the countertop (though it doesn't appear to be my own kitchen) and when I turn around, Megan is gone. I turn back to the cake and begin to cut it into slices. However, I seem very obsessive about it. I cut four square pieces, one for each of us. I almost seem to be measuring the pieces with my eyes, and cutting off tiny slivers of cake to add on to certain pieces until I am satisfied that they are all the exact same shape and size. This part seems to take a while, but by the time it is over it felt like it went by quickly.

Chris comes into the kitchen while I'm cutting the cake, and I tell him that I'm sorry but I couldn't find the exact case of beer he was looking for. He says its okay, he still has that clear stuff and didnt really need the beer anyways, though he appreciates my looking. (I'm surprised at this point that neither of us seemed to have considered getting a smaller box, or at least SOME sort of beer, but apparently we were both thinking the same thing: if I couldn't get the EXACT thing I was looking for, then it's best to not get anything at all. I hand him the other item he asked me to pick up, though I still have no idea what it was. I just know it was small enough to fit in my hand. He puts it in his pocket then walks out of the kitchen, and I bring everyone their cake.

In the living room, Mike and Jamie are talking. It's obvious they are drunk, and they are discussing wanting to do something. They are waving their arms around, slurring their words, and stumbling as they walk. Jamie suggests playing pool, and Mike agrees and they say they are going out to go play pool. They start reaching for keys when I shout, "WAIT!" We have a pool table, right in front of them actually, and I tell them that I will clean off the pool table and get it set up if they will just wait a few minutes, then no one will have to drive anywhere. They agree, and I start cleaning. It only takes about five minutes, and it's all done and ready for them to play. The three guys at this point are all drinking, they are all drunk, and they are all slurring their words, waving their arms around, and stumbling and swerving when they walk. They are having a conversation, but they are muttering and slurring so badly I can't make out a single word. They apparently have no trouble understanding each other, and suddenly they are all looking at me from across the pool table and laughing at me.

That is when I woke up.

Loving a Techie Genius Con Artist

In this dream, the techie man I had been so in love with looked and sounded exactly like Alec Steele, the blacksmith. It was pretty amazing....
