My dreams take me to the wierdest places—sometimes good, sometimes bad—but there are some of them I just don't want to forget. So good or bad, they go here. My dreams take me on a journey into the farthest parts of my mind. If I can figure out what they mean, maybe I can understand myself a bit better. You are more than welcome to take this journey with me, but don't judge what you read. Remember, it was just a dream.

That said, a lot of these dreams have at least one part of them that would be great in a story. Some of them would make amazing stories all on their own, so I do get a lot of writing inspiration from these pages. Maybe one day you'll read one of my stories and know exactly which dream inspired it!

The Volcano

I don't know what it is with me having such odd dreams almost every night this week, but I had another last night.

This time, I was in Florida visiting some family and friends. I was staying at my sisters' house, and I had both of my sons with me. Someone came running in the front door screaming about a volcano in the distance that was erupting right at that moment, and everyone in the house went running out the front door to see it. Sure enough, off in the distance, there was a volcano with a huge ash cloud pouring from the top, the entire sky in that direction was black and red. It was quite far in the distance, yet I had the feeling that it was actually a lot closer than it seemed. It still made me very afraid for the safety of my kids. It didnt seem to be doing anything in our general direction though, so I grabbed my camera and tried to take pictures of it, but they wouldnt come out right. Each one was a flash of bright yellow or red.

Just as I finally got a decent picture of it, the entire thing seemed to disappear in an instant. It was like watching it being rewinded; the volcano sucked all the smoke and ashes and explosion right back into itself.

Suddenly everything started shaking, and small bits of ash were in the air. It started to feel all too real and WAY too close. I ran inside and made sure my boys were alright, then everyone gathered in the living room to figure out what we were going to do. The volcano was now a serious threat, and we didnt know if it was going to erupt again, or what would happen to us if it did.

The rest of the dream was more of a blur than a memory, but the most vivid part was the fear and worry I had for myself and my kids, and whether or not we would survive. The last thing I remember was staring out the door at the volcano, and the colors in the sky, and wondering how I could make sure my kids stayed safe.

Llama Love, with a Little B&E

Last night's nocturnal adventure begins the way most of my evenings end: the kids playing in their bedroom together, while me and my hubby sit down at our computers and play World of Warcraft together. My husband heard the dog barking and turned to look out the window, and suddenly he jumped up and ran to the window, staring out in complete amazement.

He waves me over and says, "You have to see this."

So I look out the window and see my llama laying down in the back yard. I, too, was amazed, because he shouldnt have been in the yard. But apparently that wasn't what he was really looking at. So he says, "No, that's not your llama. Look again."

I look a bit closer this time, and see that my llama is actually standing just on the other side of the fence, where he belongs. I had to do a double take to believe it, but the llama laying down in the yard was actually a second, and completely strange to me, FEMALE llama.

It's kind of funny how they looked to me in the dream though, in terms of male and female. My llama, the male, was kind of grungy and touseled looking, a bit dirty and ruffled... while the female was clean, bright, perfectly groomed, not a spec of dirt on her at all. My llama was standing around awkwardly staring at the female, while she was casually laying back, relaxed and seemingly self-assured and confident. How I saw all this in a pair of llamas I dont know.

Anyways, we noticed the male seemed to be looking for a way to get over the fence, and I knew he would jump it any moment now. My hubby threw the window open and ran out of the room and outside to start herding her out of the yard. But before we knew it, my llama had jumped the fence and cuddled up against the female, who seemed to accept him and cuddled against him in return. My hubby stood there thinking about how to now get them both out of the yard, and told me to keep an eye on them while he ran to the garage for a second to grab something. Right as he turned the corner, both llamas looked up at me, cocked their heads to the side, glanced at each other, then rushed me at the window.

They were putting their front legs up on the window sill and trying to shove their heads in the window; it was all I could do to prop myself up in the window and attempt to block them and shove their legs and heads back out the window. It felt like I was fighting with them for hours to keep them out of the house, I dont know why they were trying so hard to get in. When hubby came back, he was in the house again, and right then the llamas broke past me and leapt into the house. It was havoc. They knocked me and hubby out of the way and began rampaging through the house. It's a good thing the door to the boys' room was shut.

I woke up and immediately checked out the window to ensure there was not only one llama, but that it was no where near my yard.

Loving a Techie Genius Con Artist

In this dream, the techie man I had been so in love with looked and sounded exactly like Alec Steele, the blacksmith. It was pretty amazing....
